Welcome Back 2010-2011

Hello wrestlers and fans. We are back for another exciting year of Warrior Wrestling. We started pre-season practice on Monday and, rom what i've heard, was a killer. I won't be in the room until after football season. I will keep everyone up to date with all of the info as I receive it. Go Warriors

Fundraiser

parents/supporters,
I hope everyone is going well. We are just about 2 months away from OU camp. We are going to be doing many fundraisers to help raise money for our team. We will have the opportunity to sell pizza this up coming monday at the SGP 9th grade center, in one day of selling pizza at 3 lunches some teams have made up to a $600.00 profit. The lunch times we will be selling the pizzas are as follows 11:00 to 1:00 on Monday, May 17th. If anyone is able to volunteer to work during those times.....it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just want to thank all of the parents and supporters who showed up last night at our wrestling banquet. The wrestlers had a very good time, it could not have been done without your help. Also, if you missed the banquet. We are going to be attending wrestling camp this summer at the University of Oklahoma this summer. Our dates we will be going are July 15th-19th. I highly encourage all wrestlers to attend this camp, this makes a huge difference in how you do in the fall. Awards Banquet

Hello Booster Club Officers & Coaches:

I just want to follow-up and make sure we are ALL on target. First off Im sure everyone knows by now that the Award Banquet will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 6:30. I would appreciate if possible to arrive a little earlier than 6:30 to help set-up. The listed names all have assignments to complete for the award banquet. Parents/Supporters,


I hope everyone is having a great spring so far, just wanted to email you guys to give you a few updates. Starting this week, every tues and thurs night at 6:00 p.m. we will begin our freestyle/greco wrestling season. I will be sending you all the schedule this week as well, it will also be posted in our wrestling room. Practices will begin at 6, and will end around 7:15. Also, we have our seasonal banquet coming up, this banquest is intended to recap how the season went, as well as highlight some individuals that performed extremely well this season. We will have our booster club banquet meeting this thursday at buffalo wild wings in grand prairie. I think it was supposed to be at 6 p.m. I will let you know if they time has changed or is wrong.

Better late than never

Hello all. I know that its been awhile since the last blog. But, congratulations to all our state qualifiers: Chris Carmona, Dominique Yang, Dusty Bess, Salvador Hernandez, Anabel Posada, Abigail Posada (Alt.), and Janiqua Mitchell (Alt.). Dusty Bess placed 4th at 152. Congrats to all our wrestlers and parents.

District Tournament Help

Parents and Wrestling Supporters, Now that everyone has recovered from Lone Star (thanks again for the outstanding parent turnout!) we have another event we are hosting at SGP: District tournament this Friday, February 5.There are two areas we need parent support for this event: concession stand volunteers and hospitality room donations. The concession stand will be open from 7:30am until around 4:00pm. We will need 2-3 people in the concession stand. Available shifts are as follows:7:00am - 10:30am10:30am - 1:00pm1:00pm - 4:30pmIf you can only work part of an available shift, that's fine. Just let us know!The hospitality room is set up for meals, drinks and snacks for coaches, officials, table workers and volunteers. We are having the major items catered in. However, we are looking for parents to donate some items, including:
2 Liters of soda (coke, diet coke, dr. pepper, sprite)
Bottled water
Cookies/brownies
Bags of chips
nutrigrain bars, granola bars, any other snack items
We will be setting up the hospitality room on Thursday night, any donations can be brought in at that time.Please contact Stephanie Criner if you are available to volunteer your time in the concession stand OR donate items for the hospitality room. Trinity Christian Academy

The JV and Varsiyt Boys will be traveling to Trinity Christian Academy tomorrow for a tri-dual. We are scheduled to start at 5:00. Middle school wrestlers are also scheduled to wrestle.

Criner's Chronicles

Parents/Supporters,


I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on how things are going with our program. First and foremost, I want to give a huge thank you too all the people who helped out at Lone Star Duals. This is one of the best groups of parents i've worked with at Lone Star Duals. This is one of the largest tournaments in the country, and it is run entirely of volunteers and supporters. You all did a fantastic job, I look forward to doing it again next year (though I am glad its an entire year away). The SGP boys wrestling team did very well....we advanced to the Saturday portion of the tournament...and placed 8th as a team. This is the first time in school history that we have ever done this. The SGP Girls wrestling team placed 5th at the tournament, which is also the first time in school history.

This weekend we have a tournament at Dallas Jesuit High School....I’ll be sending out the flyer today. It is for varsity boys and jv boys only.

There was some confusion last night on our jv dual with sam houston. I thought I was told it was on tuesday evening, but in fact it is this thursday evening. I spoke with the Sam Houston coach at Lone Star Duals about this, and I thought I heard him confirm it was on tuesday....however I guess I heard wrong. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will still have the tri on thursday with Sam Houston and Skyline...the bus will leave at 4:30.
